Pashinyan says new impetus needed for projects under EU's $2.6 billion investment package for Armenia.

YEREVAN, October 2. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received on Monday the head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, the government press service reported.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized Armenia-EU cooperation in various directions, especially in the context of advancing the democratic reforms implemented in our country.
Nikol Pashinyan added that the comprehensive reform agenda of the government is being successfully implemented, including with the support of the EU.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to give a new impetus to the projects planned by the EU 2.6 billion euro investment package for Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that for overcoming the situation created in Armenia as a result of the forced deportation of Nagorno Karabakh residents, international assistance is also expected.
The interlocutors discussed various issues on the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda.
In July 2021, the European Union approved the financing of five key programs in Armenia in the next 5 years with a total cost of 2.6 billion euro. These funds are to be channeled into infrastructure, digital agenda, climate, transport, democratic reforms projects.
Part of the funds are earmarked for strengthening sustainability and socio-economic development of Armenia's southern region of Syunik and completion of the construction of the North-South highway. -0-
