Armenia is strongly against opposing EurAsEC and CIS integration processes to its relations with Iran, Armenian Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at his meeting with members of Club of Editors-in-Chief of CIS and Baltic countries and Georgia Friday.
YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Armenia is strongly against opposing EurAsEC and CIS integration processes to its relations with Iran, Armenian Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at his meeting with members of Club of Editors-in-Chief of CIS and Baltic countries and Georgia Friday.
Our interest in integration within CIS does not mean that we are not interested in establishing reasonably good economic relations with Iran, Sargsyan said.
The Prime-Minister pointed out that American and European colleagues do not like this position as they impose strict sanctions on Iran, that are harmful to the Armenian economy as well, he added. Yet, they understand well that Armenia has no other way but to build reasonable relations with its neighbor.
“We have no right to oppose our friendly relations with Iran to our strategic relationship with Russia. It is not correct and it is not reasonable; we should consider these two as not incompatible, but complimentary relations. That is our position,” Armenian Prime-Minister said. –0-
