President of Armenia to visit Vietnam in the first half of 2012

YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will visit Vietnam in the first half of 2012, said Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan in the meeting with the President of Vietnam Trương Tấn Sang in Hanoi.

“Trương Tấn Sang approved the invitation of the President Sargsyan to visit Vietnam saying that he will be happy to welcome the Armenian President in his country”, press-service of Armenian Foreign Ministry informs.

According to the press-release, Nalbandyan informed that President of Armenia accepted the invitation which will take place in the first half of 2012.

“The parties expressed hope that the upcoming visit of the Armenian President will promote development of bilateral relations”, says the press-release.

President of Vietnam said that there is a warm attitude in Vietnam towards Armenia and its people which is mainly conditioned by the important support during war and post-war rehabilitation.

“Many citizens of Vietnam have been educated in Armenia and now they use their knowledge in the development of our country. The people of Vietnam is grateful to Armenia for this support. Today we consider very important development of our relations and want to undertake necessary steps in this direction”, said the President of Vietnam.

During the meeting the parties discussed the steps of promotion of bilateral cooperation and integration processes in the Asian region.

In this context Trương Tấn Sang said that Vietnam, taking into account friendly relations between the two countries can become for Armenia gates into Asian-Pacific region. 

Nalbandyan visited the mausoleum of the founder of Socialist republic of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh, as well as paid tribute to the victims for freedom and independence of Vietnam.

Nalbandyan is in Hanoi by the invitation of his Vietnamese colleague Phan Binh Minh. -0-
