President Sargsyan to present Armenia’s priorities during its chairmanship of CSTO

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will attend the September 15 session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), to be held in Tajikistan’s capital city Dushanbe, to present the priorities of Armenia during its forthcoming chairmanship of CSTO, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov said.

YEREVAN, September 11. / ARKA /. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will attend the September 15 session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), to be held in Tajikistan’s capital city Dushanbe, to present the priorities of Armenia during its forthcoming chairmanship of CSTO, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov said.

He said also the Collective Security Council session will  be held in a narrow format with the heads of state discussing past activities and further development of the military component of CSTO. They will also have an exchange of views on the situation in the zone of responsibility of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

CSTO secretary general Nikolai Bordyuzha will deliver the annual report in which the focus will be on the CSTO activity in 2014 and 2015.

The heads of state are expected to issue a statement to summarize what has been done and the organization’s plan of activities for future. They will also sign a number of other documents relating to CSTO performance.

The Collective Security Council’s meeting will be preceded by separate meetings of foreign and defense ministers from member states as well as heads of national security councils. -0-
