YEREVAN, October 5. /ARKA/. Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan does not know where from he could get money to lure professionals into the state machinery. Earlier, Karen Karapetyan said the new Armenian government would be formed of professionals.
During a governmental Q&A session in the parliament today a lawmaker noted that highly qualified and professional people are in demand in the market working for private companies which pay much bigger salaries than the government.
He asked Karapetyan are there sources from which he plans to raise money to attract professionals into his team.
"Frankly speaking, I do not know where from I could take that money," - Karapetyan said.
"Really, I do not know. To speak now about increasing the salaries of civil servants would be wrong. But to improve public administration efficiency we should discuss this question, otherwise there will be no high-quality managers, this is a real problem,’ he said.
It should be noted that many Cabinet members boast of quite good education. The prime minister himself has the degree of doctor in economics. Four other Cabinet members have PhD degrees and eight other Cabinet members were educated at leading western universities. -0-
