The process of ratification of the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union by other member countries’ parliaments gives no grounds for anxiety, Gagik Minasyan, an MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia and the head of the Armenian National Assembly’s finance and budgetary committee, told journalists on Friday.
YEREVAN, December 19. /ARKA/. The process of ratification of the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union by other member countries’ parliaments gives no grounds for anxiety, Gagik Minasyan, an MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia and the head of the Armenian National Assembly’s finance and budgetary committee, told journalists on Friday.
On December 4, Armenian lawmakers ratified the agreement. It means Armenia, along with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, will become a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union on January 1, 2015.
Minasyan said that there is particular deadline for ratification of this document – it must be ratified by partner countries before the end of this year.
“The Eurasian Economic Union member countries are taking necessary steps, and therefore I see no grounds for anxiety over the matter,” he said. “I think all the countries will manage to ratify it on time.”
The Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation ratified the agreement on December 17.
On Friday, Kazakhstan’s Senate (the Upper House) adopted the law on ratification of the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.
Belarusian Parliament’s Lower House is planning to discuss the matter today. ---0----
