Putin: Russia, Armenia to keep cooperating within international organizations

Russia and Armenia will continue cooperating closely within international organizations and developing integration contacts, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today as met with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, April 24. /ARKA/. Russia and Armenia will continue cooperating closely within international organizations and developing integration contacts, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today as met with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan.
«I won't speak about politics now – it is obvious that we support each other in international organizations and our foreign ministries cooperate closely,» he said. «We are developing our contacts in the area of integration processes and I am very happy that Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union, and economic relations are developing as well.»
Putin also added that despite all the difficulties of 2014, trade between the two countries grew.
Speaking about the increased Russian capital investments in Armenia's economy, the Russian leader said that they make up 40% of all foreign capital investments in Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked his Russian counterpart for his speech at the commemorative ceremony, and Putin, in return, thanked the Armenian president for invitation to commemorative events.
«I would like to point out again a special nature of relations between Armenia and Russia, between Armenians and Russians and other nationalities of Russian Federation,» Putin said. «All this has deep historic roots, and we have always been and will always stay very close allies.» ---0----
