Russian President Vladimir Putin will fly to Armenia on October 1 to attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Kremlin’s official website reported.

YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will fly to Armenia on October 1 to attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Kremlin’s official website reported.

It said on the sidelines of the event, Putin will have negotiations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

It said also that  apart from the leaders of the countries, which make the Eurasian Economic Union  (EEU, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia), the gathering will be attended also by the President of Moldova, which has the status of EEU observer state, as well as by honored guests - the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Singapore.

The  Supreme Council will consider a set of issues of the Eurasian Economic Union, the areas for the further development of integration processes; it will also outline the tasks to improve the functioning of the Eurasian single market and expand cooperation in key sectors of the economy.

The leaders of states are to approve the concept for the formation of the common financial market of the EEU, its budget for the next year and a number of decisions on the harmonization of legislation in the field of transport and energy.

They will also agree on the main directions of the Union’s international activities inr 2020 and sign a free trade agreement between EEU and Singapore. -0-
