Raffi Hovannisian’s supporters returning to Liberty Square after marching to presidential residence

Loyalists of Raffi Hovannisian, Serzh Sargsyan’s key rival in the recent presidential election who does not recognize the official results of the election saying they have been rigged, are returning to the Liberty Square after marching toward the president’s residence in Baghramyan Avenue.

YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. Loyalists of Raffi Hovannisian, Serzh Sargsyan’s key rival in the recent presidential election who does not recognize the official results of the election saying they have been rigged, are returning to the Liberty Square after marching toward the president’s residence in Baghramyan Avenue.  

The police barred them from coming close to the residence. After negotiating with the police Hovannisian decided to return to the square. 

The President Serzh Sargsyan was sworn in today, and Hovannisian and his supporters vowed to continue their struggle. 

The presidential election final results released by the Central Election Commission showed that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was reelected by 58.64% of votes. 

The second vote-getter Raffi Hovannisian, leader of Heritage party, unhappy about the results of the poll, started staging rallies in Armenia’s provinces. Hovannisian announced the start of the Revolution of Greetings.  --0---
