YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia supports the introduction of electronic voting system, Gagik Minasyan, a senior member of the party, was quoted as saying by the Armenian Service of RFE/RL following a meeting of the executive body of the party that discussed a set of planned changes to the Election Code.
"We discussed all those possibilities that will ensure a greater transparency in the elections by using the best international practices", he said.
Minasyan refused to specify but added that the proposed mechanisms may indeed secure exceptional confidence of the citizens in electoral processes.

"No final decision has been taken yet about possible cooperation with other parties. Possibly our cooperation with various parties will be in different formats, but the issue is still under discussion, and clarity will be brought in the near future,’ he explained. -0-
