YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. Ten district election commissions in Yerevan announced the results of the recounting of votes conducted at 78 polling stations. The elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan were held on September 17.

The results of the recount:

Public Voice party - 16 ballots added,

Civil Contract party - 31 ballots added,

Fair Armenia party - 5 ballots added,

Victory party - 1 ballot added,

Homeland Force party - 6 ballots added,

European Party of Armenia - 2 ballots deducted,

National Progress Party - 32 ballots added,

Party For Social Justice - 1 ballot added,

Hanrapetutyun party - 3 ballots deducted,

United Armenia Party - 5 ballots deducted,

Bright Armenia party - 4 ballots added,

Democratic Unity party - 3 ballots deducted,

Country of Life party - 4 ballots added,

Mother Armenia bloc - 67 ballots added

The number of invalid ballots decreased by 266.

The Central Election Commission will announce the final results of the elections on September 24.

The Mother Armenia bloc won 35,739 votes (15.43%) in the polls. The other four parties that have won seats in the Council of Elders are Public Voice - 22,431 votes (9.68%), Civil Contract - 75,463 votes (32.57%), National Progress - 43,765 votes (18.89%) and Hanrapetutyun (Republic) party - 26,236 votes (11.32%).

To elect their candidate as mayor a party or a bloc should control at least 33 seats in the 65-member assembly.

A mayoral candidate Hayk Marutyan stated the day before that the Civil Contract has won 24 seats, his National Progress - 14 seats, Mother Armenia bloc - 12 seats, Hanrapetutyun party - 8 seats and Public Voice party - 7 seats.

The current Council’s term of office expires on October 10, 2023. -0-
