YEREVAN, April 18, / ARKA /. In an interview with Sputnik-Armenia radio station Tevan Poghosyan, a member of the Armenian parliament committee on foreign relations, said Armenia and the European Union will launch a new round of talks at the Eastern Partnership summit, scheduled to take place on May 21-22 in Riga, Latvia.
He said the European Union may also 'liberalize' the visa regime for Armenia and promote Armenia's open skies policy. He said Armenia may also be allowed to participate in the European Union's research and innovation funding program Horizon-2020 with a total budget of 80 billion euros.
According to Tevan Poghosyan, there are no obstacles that can hinder Armenia's cooperation with the EU after Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. He said chances for successful completion of talks with EU are quite high.
He said the talks may result in new economic privileges for Armenia, given that Kazakhstan, another member of the Eurasian Economic Union, signed recently an enlarged economic agreement with EU.-0-
