YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Vardan Harutyunyan, head of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee commented Monday on personnel purges in his office. 

Information about the already made and likely changes in the committee is periodically emerging in media resources. 

In particular, Harutyunyan is quoted by media outlets as saying that he personally is responsible for the personnel policy in his office and he personally is composing his team, which is being made up solely of professionals. 

“Those people who fail to perform the tasks received from me will go away,” he said. “The rules of the game have changed and this is me who makes rules.”

In his words, the committee, as a representative of the state government, has its share in any business in taxes. 

”If business people make their payments to the government without dodging, we will support the development of their businesses, but if they try to evade taxes, we will combat this,” Harutyunyan said. 

He also said that he has now business now, but confessed that his family members have and vowed that he will not favor their businesses or provide preferences to them. 

Vardan Harutyunyan, former CEO of Gazprom Armenia, was appointed on October 8 by Serzh Sargsyan, who is Armenian president, as head of the State Revenue Committee. --0---
