Russia reiterates its offer to help Armenia and Azerbaijan demarcate and delimit their border

YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. Russia has accumulated extensive experience in delimitation and demarcation of state border and is ready to provide advisory assistance to Azerbaijan and Armenia on this issue, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said today, according to TASS.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Rudenko said Russia is ready, in case of a corresponding requests from Baku and Yerevan, to provide advisory assistance in this process.
"We have carried out a lot of work to delimit and demarcate our borders with Kazakhstan, China and other countries. We have accumulated experience of such work. Therefore, we are ready to participate, but, I will repeat once again, if there is an appropriate request from both parties," he said.
Rudenko noted that the delimitation and demarcation of Armenian-Azerbaijani border should result in a state border agreement.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow was ready, within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, to provide assistance to Baku and Yerevan in resolving their border standoff that emerged after the incursion of Azerbaijani troops into the Armenian territory earlier this month.
He suggested that an Armenian-Azerbaijani commission for delimitation and demarcation of the borderbe created and that Russia could get involved in it as a consultant or intermediary. -0-
