YEREVAN, April 4. /ARKA/. Statements made by some representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry do not contribute in any way to the formation of an environment for negotiations, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said on Thursday.

"Diplomats usually speak and speak to all partners. However, the environment that should be created for discussions on various topics is very important. The statements of certain representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry do not contribute in any way to the formation of such an environment," Kostanyan told reporters.

According to the deputy minister, the Armenian Foreign Ministry speaks about the problems, which are obvious in the Armenian-Russian relations.

"I think we can expect that a country, which is de jure allied to us will react to this, and not only in words, but also with steps, and will not make statements and will not take steps that can harm, as they claim, the vital interests of their ally," the diplomat noted.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's statement he made in an interview with Argentine publication Todo Noticias.

Mirzoyan said in particular that the Armenian and Russian authorities have different thoughts and that they speak different languages. He also noted that the problems existing in the relations with Russia cannot be hidden.

To this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that she "would like to mock", but in her opinion, "it is not worth it".

"Not because I wouldn't be able to beat the phrase about languages. I could. But because such people are driving Armenia into a dead end," Zakharova said. --0--
