YEREVAN, April 19. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated the key topics of today's talks with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Putin, a large package of documents designed to enhance economic ties between the two countries will be signed during Armenian prime minister's visit to Russia.

"We will certainly focus on security issues, including those related to Nagorno-Karabakh. We are in constant contact with you; we talk on the phone every week, every 10 days. We meet regularly, despite the pandemic period. I am very glad to see you, you are welcome," Putin said.

For his part, Pashinyan said that relations between the two countries are at a very high level and expressed hope that this dynamics will be maintained and its efficiency will increase.

According to him, the agenda of bilateral relations is very rich in almost all sectors, from economy to culture, from education to military-technical cooperation.

"Russia is a strategic, allied partner of Armenia. We effectively cooperate within the Eurasian Economic Union, CIS and CSTO frameworks. It's no secret that Russia plays a key role in ensuring security and stability in our region. I should mention once again your exclusive role in achieving ceasefire and cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020," Pashinyan stressed.

Pashinyan said also that Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh ensure the security and ‘we need to see what can be done to make their activities more effective.’

"Of course, the main political issue in our region is the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. I am sure that today we will also talk about it. My visit has a very full agenda, but quite a large part of the agenda is related to these negotiations. I am confident that we will have efficient talks," Pashinyan said.

During the two-day official visit, the Armenian Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko. Pashinyan will also visit on April 20 the city of Nizhny Novgorod. --0--
