Sargsyan grateful to Ivanishvili for caring for Armenian historical monuments in Georgia

Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan thanked Georgian premier Bidzina Ivanishvili for care shown for Armenian historical monuments in Georgia and for willingness to facilitate their reconstruction, the presidential press service reported Friday after Sargsyan’s meeting with Georgian FM Maya Panjikidze.

YEREVAN, April 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan thanked Georgian premier Bidzina Ivanishvili for care shown for Armenian historical monuments in Georgia and for willingness to facilitate their reconstruction, the presidential press service reported Friday after Sargsyan’s meeting with Georgian FM Maya Panjikidze.
In welcoming his guest the president said that the last 20-year developments in Armenia-Georgia relations reflect the historical ties the countries had.
Georgian FM, in her turn, expressed gratitude for war, reception and once again congratulated Sargsyan on re-election.
At the meeting Panjikidze and acting FM of Armenian Edward Nalbandyan briefed the president on the steps taken for strengthening cooperation and the works carried out by the commission for demarcation and delimitation of Armenia-Georgia border.
The sides discussed opportunities for better cooperation in a number of fields, such as culture, tourism, education.
The meeting participants also exchanged views on regional problems and the EU Eastern partnership program. -0-
