Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan thanked today Georgian prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvilli for attention given to preservation and restoration of Armenian monuments in Georgia as he received Georgian foreign minister Maya Panjikidze.
YEREVAN, April 12, /ARKA/. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan thanked today Georgian prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvilli for attention given to preservation and restoration of Armenian monuments in Georgia as he received Georgian foreign minister Maya Panjikidze.
Welcoming the guest, president Sargsyan noted that the relations between the two countries built over the past twenty years are in tune with their historical ties.
In turn, Ms. Panjikidze thanked for the warm welcome and congratulated Sargsyan on behalf of the Georgian leadership on his re-election as president.
She also had a meeting with acting foreign minister Edward Nalbandian who spoke about the steps aimed at strengthening cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries. He also spoke about the work carried out by the joint commission for the demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Georgian border.
The sides discussed also ways to deepen cooperation in a number of areas, including culture, education, and tourism. Both sides also exchanged views on regional issues and cooperation within the framework of the EU’s Eastern Partnership program. -0-
