Sorokin: OSCE to expand cooperation with Armenia

The OSCE will expand its cooperation with Armenia, Andrey Sorokin, the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, said in an interview with Golos Armenii newspaper.
YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. The OSCE will expand its cooperation with Armenia, Andrey Sorokin, the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, said in an interview with Golos Armenii newspaper.
In his words, the OSCE budget was already upheld on December 31, 2015 mainly thanks to Germany, which assumes chairmanship in this organization on January 1, 2016.
Sorokin finds the existence of budget in the very beginning of the year is very remarkable, since it allows working and implementing programs to their full extent.
”Remarkable is also that particularly our financing will be full under Germany’s chairmanship,” he said. “Here is a little example – Azerbaijanis are constantly criticizing OSCE Yerevan Office and particularly me for annual agreements with Armenia’s defense ministry and joint programs.”
The same happened in Vienna, he said, where Azerbaijan’s delegation was strongly opposed to the budget and refused to approve it.
“But the budget was eventually adopted and it was adopted in the proposed amount,” Sorokin said in his interview. “As a result, our cooperation with Armenia’s defense ministry will be expanded again.” -0----
