Tehran welcomes early signing of peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku - Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Tehran welcomes the imminent signing of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty and opposes any changes to internationally recognized borders, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated in Yerevan.
"All issues in the region must be resolved within the region and through diplomacy, without the use of force," Araghchi said at a press conference with his Armenian counterpart.
In turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan explained that he presented Araghchi with the process of delimiting the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the latest developments surrounding the peace agreement. "I once again emphasized Armenia's commitment to establishing peace in the region, an important step of which could be the signing of a peace agreement," Mirzoyan said.
He also praised Iran's clear stance on Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"For both Iran and Armenia, the inviolability of the borders between our states is of vital importance," Mirzoyan concluded.
