Telethon-2016 to be aimed at recovery of war-stricken areas in Nagorno Karabakh

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan, speaking Friday at a session of the board of trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, proposed to include in the Telethon – 2016 recovery of residential areas of Artsakh [Armenian name of Karabakh] that was damaged in Azerbaijan’s four-day military campaign against Karabakh.
STEPANAKERT, May 27. /ARKA/. Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan, speaking Friday at a session of the board of trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, proposed to include in the Telethon – 2016 recovery of residential areas of Artsakh [Armenian name of Karabakh] that was damaged in Azerbaijan’s four-day military campaign against Karabakh.
According to the presidential press office, the proposal was upheld and included in the Telethon – 2016.
Sahakyan also thanked Armenia and Armenian communities worldwide for supporting Artsakh during the April war.
He stressed that Armenian people are always uniting at crucial moments.
On April 2, 2016, Azerbaijan launched military assaults along the entire perimeter of its contact line with Nagorno Karabakh. Four days later ceasefire was arranged.
Hayastan All Armenian Fund holds charity telethons every year. The 2015 telethon that had been held under the motto ‘Our Home’ raised $10 378 465. The raised money will be spent on building homes for multi-child families in Karabakh.
For 25 years, Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s telethons have raised $300 million. These financial resources have been used for implementing more than 1,000 projects aimed at improvement of living standards in Armenia and Karabakh. --0---
