Turkey shares the pain of the Armenian people- Erdogan

Turkey’s European Union Affairs minister Volkan Bozkir attended today a mass at Surp Asdvadzadzin Patriarchal Church in Istanbul as part of events to commemorate the Armenian genocide victims in Turkey.
YEREVAN, April 24. / ARKA /. Turkey’s European Union Affairs minister Volkan Bozkir attended today a mass at Surp Asdvadzadzin Patriarchal Church in Istanbul as part of events to commemorate the Armenian genocide victims in Turkey.
The liturgy was organized by the Istanbul Armenian Patriarchate. Bozkir is the first Turkish minister to ever participate in such a ceremony held to honor those who died during the 1915 events.
In a statement Turkish president Erdogan said Turkey shares the pain of the Armenian people in connection with the tragic events of 1915. The statement was read at the liturgy.
"We know about the sad events experienced by the Armenian community in the past. I sincerely share your pain. I want you to know - our hearts are open to all descendants of the Ottoman Armenians,’ the statement says.-0-
