U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland, called on the OSCE to double the efforts to help the peoples of Georgia, Moldova and Nagorno-Karabakh when speaking at the meeting of the organization’s council of foreign ministers in Kyiv today.
YEREVAN, December 5. / ARKA /. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland, called on the OSCE to double the efforts to help the peoples of Georgia, Moldova and Nagorno-Karabakh when speaking at the meeting of the organization’s council of foreign ministers in Kyiv today.
"We need to double our efforts to help the peoples of Georgia and Moldova, and pay attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh,” she was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
She also noted the need to support “the resumption of dialogue between Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents."
The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, agreed to give a fresh push to further negotiations to reach a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict at their first meeting in 24 months in Vienna on November 19.
The presidents instructed their foreign ministers to continue the work together with the Minsk Group co-chairs on the basis of what has been done so far in order to intensify the peace process. -0-
