U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will discuss December 4 the nomination of Richard M. Mills, Jr for the post of Ambassador to Armenia, according to Senate’s official website.
YEREVAN, December 2. / ARKA /. U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will discuss December 4 the nomination of Richard M. Mills, Jr for the post of Ambassador to Armenia, according to Senate’s official website.
His candidacy was proposed by President Barack Obama in July. If approved he will replace the current US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.
Mr. Mills earned a B.A. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. in 1981, a J.D. from the University Of Texas School of Law, Austin, Texas in 1984 and a M.S. in National Security Policy from the National Defense University, U.S. War College, Washington, D.C. in 2005.
He began his diplomatic career in 1988 serving in Malta, France, Russia, Ireland, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Lebanon. He speaks French and conversational Russian. -0-
