YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. The UN Security Council will meet on September 21 in connection with Azerbaijani attack on Nagorno-Karabakh, a source in the organization told TASS.

"The meeting is to be held on Thursday afternoon New York time,' it said.

The UN is hosting a high-level week of the UN General Assembly, so it is possible that heads of several delegations will take part in the meeting, according to the source.

The Azerbaijani defense ministry said in a statement Tuesday it launched “local anti-terrorist activities” to “suppress large-scale provocations in the Karabakh economic region,” and “to disarm and secure the withdrawal of formations of Armenia’s armed forces from our territories.”

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today Armenia's army was not involved in fighting and the situation on the border was “stable”.

Earlier, the Karabakh side appealed to the Azerbaijani side to immediately stop hostilities and sit down at the negotiating table to settle the situation.-0-
