Yerevan is one of the world’s 12 cities with sustainable prospects for prosperity, according to the U.N. State of World's Cities Report 2012/2013: prosperity of cities.
YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Yerevan is one of the world’s 12 cities with sustainable prospects for prosperity, according to the U.N. State of World's Cities Report 2012/2013: prosperity of cities.
Five indicators were researched for this index: productivity index, quality of life, infrastructure development, ecologic sustainability and capital.
The highest indicator for Yerevan is infrastructure development, and the lowest – productivity index, according to the report.
The index of quality of life in Yerevan was assessed higher than that of the other cities in the group, particularly, the Asian cities, such as Beijing, Jakarta, Amman and Bangkok, as well as several African cities, such as Cairo and Johannesburg.
Cities with the most sustainable prosperity prospects are primarily European cities, such as the capitals of the Scandinavian countries, London, Paris, Milan, Brussels, Warsaw, New York and Toronto. The only Asian city listed in this group is Tokyo.—0-
