YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. About 30% of loaves in Armenia are made with violations of the established standards and regulations, Armen Poghosyan, the head of a consumer watchdog said today.
Speaking at a news conference, he said this conclusion is based on the findings of a string of surveys and studies.
'Although the quality of bread has increased significantly in recent years, due to violations of regulations we actually pay for the air, despite the fact that the size of a loaf visually did not change,' Poghosyan said.
According to him, the price of bread has risen from 320 drams to 470 drams per 1 kg in recent years. He also said bread and pasta make on average 20% of the diet of an average Armenian citizen and this is why the authorities are obliged to draw attention to the fact of violations in the field of bread making. -0--
