Nearly 70 electronic boards will be installed at bus stops in Yerevan in summer, said Sargis Manukyan, a director of technology management center of Yerevan.

YEREVAN, June 21./ARKA/. Nearly 70 electronic boards will be installed at bus stops in Yerevan in summer, said Sargis Manukyan, a director of technology management center of Yerevan.
“The boards will display waiting time to bus arrival. Buses will be equipped with GPS and their route map will also be available on the board,” he said.
Manukyan has said by the end of June nearly 20 boards have already been installed.
“The next batch, nearly 50 boards, will be imported and installed within 1-2 months,” he added.
As to equipping mini buses with GPS, Manukyan has noted there are no technical hindrances for that, however, “given Yerevan Municipality will be gradually replacing mini buses with buses, and very soon there will be no mini buses left in the city, it is irrational to do.”
Several electronic boards with GPS were installed at some bus stops in an experimental mode early this year.—0-
