An attempt to smuggle gold bars to Georgia uncovered in Armenia

YEREVAN, February 23. /ARKA/. The employees of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, acting on a tip-off from the National Security Service, have prevented illegal transportation of a large consignment of undeclared gold bars through the Bavra border checkpoint.

According to the State Revenue Committee, the gold bars were discovered during the inspection of a car traveling from Armenia to Georgia.

The gold bars weighing 2,215 grams were found in the interior of the car. According to preliminary estimates, the value of the bars is 58 million drams. ($1 - 404.35 drams) -0-.
