Anti-corruption court in Armenia finds 28 people guilty of illegally obtaining driver's license for bribes

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Court handed down October 19 a sentence against 28 people who were accused of obtaining driver’s licenses in exchange for bribes.
YEREVAN, October 21. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Court handed down October 19 a sentence against 28 people who were accused of obtaining driver’s licenses in exchange for bribes.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, they were sentenced to pay fines. The General Prosecutor's Office filed a petition to the police to invalidate the driving licenses purchased illegally by these citizens.
The criminal case had been initiated by the Investigative Department of the National Security Service and investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
The citizens were charged with giving bribes (overall, over AMD 3 million) to an officer at driving license department of the Road Police through an intermediary. -0-
