Armenia plans to introduce program for treatment of heart failure

YEREVAN, May 30. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to introduce a program for the treatment of heart failure called “Artificial Heart.”
According to the press service of the Yerevan City Hall, this issue was discussed at a meeting between Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sargis Madatyan and representatives of Abbott company.
Issues related to the development of a program implementation roadmap, pretreatment and post-treatment stages, as well as possible areas for exchange of experience with other countries were discussed.
To launch the program, a preliminary analysis of the number of patients in Armenia and the overall situation will be conducted. A project implementation team will be formed, the process will be mapped out, and patients will be selected.
The program aims to save the lives of about 90 patients, given the lack of heart transplant capabilities in Armenia. -0-
