Armenia citizens to see improvement of social services’ quality very soon

Very soon Armenia citizens will feel improvement of social services’ quality thanks to introduction of the integrated system of social services in the country, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan said Friday during a discussion over the 2011 government budget performance.

YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. Very soon Armenia citizens will feel improvement of social services’ quality thanks to introduction of the integrated system of social services in the country, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan said Friday during a discussion over the 2011 government budget performance. 

On December 23, 2010, the government approved the concept of single system of integrated social services. Thanks to this, all the single-window service delivery. 

In accordance with the concept, 15 centers for integrated social services will be opened in Armenia. 

“Probably, it is difficult to indicate a country where everybody is happy about social policy,” Asatryan said. “I can only say that the bulk of the population is displeased with low-quality services.”

Presenting the ministry’s 2011 activity report, he said that there were 509,000 pensioners in Armenia by January 1, 2011, and the average pension size was AMD 27,163. 

He said that 91,575 low-income families received social benefits in 2011 and 10,349 families were beneficiaries of the emergency program. The average size of benefits was AMD 26,850 in 2011. ($1 – AMD 405.39).-0---
