YEREVAN, January 12. /ARKA/. Armenian health officials have recorded 355 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, saying the total number of confirmed cases stood at 162, 643 on Tuesday morning.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, ten people have died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of such deaths to 2,941.

Also, 729 patients have recovered. Some 1,885 people have tested for the infection in the last 24 hours, it said. Five people with confirmed coronavirus have died during that time span from other causes. The total number of such cases is now 707.

In total, 611,815 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of 3 million since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected. Since then 150,602 patients have recovered, and 8,393 patients are being treated currently at hospitals and at their homes.

On January 11, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine for another six months until July 11, 2021. The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus.-0-
