Armenia's confirmed cases of coronavirus grow by 322 to 5,928

Armenia's confirmed coronavirus cases have grown by 322 over the past 24 hours to 5,928, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention said.

YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. Armenia's confirmed coronavirus cases have grown by 322 over the past 24 hours to 5,928, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention said.
According to the center, a total of 47,654 coronavirus tests were performed; 74 people have died from coronavirus, 28 deaths were caused by other reasons, 2,874 patients have recovered and the number of patients undergoing treatment is 2,952.
The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention said four male patients have died from coronavirus over the past 24 hours aged 52, 81, 61 and 82. All had chronic diseases.
The Health Ministry said that over the past day there was one death of a patient with confirmed coronavirus infection, but the death occurred due to another disease. There are a total of 28 such cases. The ministry said also that 293 people have recovered over the last 24 hours.
A 30-day state of emergency to curb the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16 and restrictions were imposed on free movement of citizens. The government banned also some types of economic activity. On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for another month and on May 4 it lifted the ban on almost all types of economic activity and the free movement of citizens, except for public transport. On May 14, the government has again extended the state of emergency for another 30 days.
However, despite the extension, public transport, preschools, trading centers, restaurants and gyms have reopened starting from May 18, and wearing of masks has become mandatory in public spaces. -0-
