YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. Armenia's Health Minister Arsen Torosyan and Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri discussed today the situation in both countries after the global outbreak of coronavirus.

The Armenian ministry said Torosyan spoke about what Armenian authorities were doing to prevent the spread of the virus.

The ambassador spoke in turn about the experience his country has gained over the past two weeks in fighting the disease. According to the diplomat, a medical team has been formed in Iran, whose main function is to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Zohouri said as of March 3 some 7,280 people have turned to hospitals since the discovery of coronavirus, of whom 4,312 were tested. Some 2, 1501 cases of coronavirus were diagnosed,  291 people recovered and 66 patients died.

"The experience of our country has shown that preventive measures should be strengthened, and this is also important for Armenia," the Iranian diplomat said.

Torosyan and Zohouri agreed that a direct phone line should be established between the health ministers of the two countries. “I hope that in the near future everything will be settled and life will continue in a normal way,” the minister said. -0-
