Armenia's SRC uncovers a case of smuggling more than 1 kg of hashish
YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today that employees of its anti-smuggling department have uncovered another case of drug smuggling.
According to SRC press service, the drugs were discovered by a sniffer dog in an international courier parcel send from the United States when it was going through Apaven Terminal customs control zone..
When the employees examined the parcel their found, apart from items of personal use, also four boxes, each with 1,170 hashish mixed with tea.
The law-enforcers detained a citizen of Armenia, identified as A.K. after he received the parcel with substituted content near his home in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.
He was taken to the Investigative Committee. During the personal search, a substance similar to opium and a white powdery mass containing psychotropic substances were found in the possession of this citizen.
The SRC said its employees were working to clarify the circle of persons involved in the scheme.
