YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government upheld Thursday an agreement that lays legal groundwork for establishing air communication with Syria, Novosti-Armenia reports.
The agreement gives Armenia and Syria a right to provide permission to their air companies for servicing the set routes.
As many as 110,000 Armenians lived once in Syria, but 90,000 of them have fled the country since the beginning of the war. Some 20,000 of them have taken refuge in Armenia over five years of the war, of which 13,000 have become Armenian citizens. --0---
