YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. Armenia will continue programs of assistance to the people of Artsakh and will embark on programs for the restoration of the settlements of Syunik and Gegharkunik, Armenian Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said Thursday at a government meeting.

He said that the Armenian government has already adopted two measures, rather large-scale ones, to be taken to assist the Artsakh compatriots.

“The adoption of assistance programs will continue as long as necessary. In the near future, our attention will also be focused on the restoration of the settlements of Syunik and Gegharkunik, which suffered during the war, by analogy with the programs implemented in Tavush,” Pashinyan said.

In Tavush, after the July aggression of Azerbaijan, houses in a number of villages, roads and other infrastructure were destroyed, including a kindergarten and a school. As part of the government program, residents were promptly provided with funds and opportunities to rebuild their homes. Programs were implemented to restore all damaged infrastructures.

About Programs to Assist Artsakh

According to the government program, each person who moved from Artsakh to Armenia will be provided with financial assistance of 68,000 drams (about $ 135). Citizens who do not have their own real estate in Armenia will be provided with another 15,000 drams (about $ 30).

The Armenian government approved an event to assist the citizens of Artsakh, who were registered and lived in the communities that have now come under the control of Azerbaijan. They will receive in a lump sum 300,000 drams (about $ 600) for each recipient.

About Artsakh War

From September 27 to November 9, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, with the participation of Turkey and foreign mercenaries and terrorists recruited by it, carried out aggression against Artsakh at the frontline and in the rear using rocket and artillery weapons, heavy armored vehicles, military aircraft and prohibited types of weapons (cluster bombs, phosphorus weapons). The strikes were delivered also at civil and military targets on the territory of Armenia.

On November 9, the leaders of the Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement on the cessation of all hostilities in Artsakh. According to the document, the parties stop at their positions. The city of Shushi, Agdam, Kelbajar and Lachin regions pass over to Azerbaijan, with the exception of a 5-kilometer corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia. A Russian peacekeeping contingent will be deployed along the contact line in Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor. Internally displaced persons and refugees are returning to Karabakh and adjacent regions, prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons and bodies of the dead are exchanged. -0-
