Armenian government approves training and employment program for needy families

At its regular meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a program for organizing short-term training courses and providing employment for able-bodied family members recognized as needy under the relevant assessment system.

YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. At its regular meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a program for organizing short-term training courses and providing employment for able-bodied family members recognized as needy under the relevant assessment system.
“The new system is being introduced on an experimental basis in Kotayk and Syunik regions. The program provides support to employers so that they can help our beneficiaries in three areas - training and hiring, or providing work experience and hiring, or simply hiring,” said RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Anna Zhamakochyan.
Participation in the program can be registered on the e-work.am platform.
The deputy minister explained that under the first point, the state compensates the employer for the costs of training the beneficiary in informal education, but not more than 250 thousand drams.
"The state will also provide support to the employer in the event of concluding an employment contract for at least 6 months (monthly in the amount of 50 thousand drams). The employer will simply conclude an agreement with the beneficiary for at least 6 months and will have the opportunity to provide a certain internship during the first 3 months, within the framework of which the employer will be compensated for 165 thousand drams for the payment of salaries, including taxes and mandatory contributions, for a period of 3 months," Zhamakochyan noted.
According to her, after completing a three-month internship with the employer, the employer will receive compensation for taxes deducted from salaries and mandatory contributions in the amount of 50 thousand drams for another 3 months.
"Further, if the employer concludes an agreement with a beneficiary from the category of unsecured persons, he will receive support in the form of a salary subsidy. In case of a contract for a period of 6 to 11 months, we subsidize 50% of the salary, no more than 50 thousand drams monthly, in case of a contract for a period of more than 12 months, we subsidize 70% of the salary for 6 months, but no more than 75 thousand of the minimum monthly salary,” Zhamakochyan said.
