Armenian government may ban visits to restaurants and concerts without negative PCR tests of vaccination certificates
YEREVAN, Nov. 29. /ARKA/. It is very likely that starting from January 1, 2022, citizens wishing to visit restaurants and other eateries land cultural events will need to have a negative PCR test or vaccination certificate, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told a press conference on Monday.
She said a draft decision to that effect may be approved later today. "Restrictive measures may cause some inconveniences, but given their importance, the Ministry of Health considers it necessary to apply such measures," Avanesyan said.
She pointed to the importance of wearing masks indoors because it is really important in terms of stopping the spread of infection.
"Both vaccination and mask-wearing are extremely important and should remain in our lives. We must apply comprehensive measures to reduce the infection rate and the number of deaths," the minister stressed.
As of November 28, more than 1.21 million people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Armenia. Both doses of the vaccine were given to 21.8% of the adult population of the country.
In Armenia, 5 types of Covid-19 vaccines are used now- CoronaVac and Sinofarm (China), AstraZeneka (Britain, Sweden), Sputnik V (Russia) and Spikevax (Moderna, USA). Vaccinations are free for people over 18 years old, including foreigners.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 21 people have died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours. The total tally of such deaths is now 7,535. --0
