Armenian government task force closes 46 food facilities for 24 hours for breach of safety rules

Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who is also heading a government task force set up to enforce the sate of emergency declared to contain the spread of coronavirus, ordered 46 food facilities across the country to close for 24 hours for the breach of safety rules.
YEREVAN, May 25. /ARKA/. Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who is also heading a government task force set up to enforce the sate of emergency declared to contain the spread of coronavirus, ordered 46 food facilities across the country to close for 24 hours for the breach of safety rules.
Sixteen of them are in the capital city Yerevan and the rest are in Vayots Dzor, Syunik, Armavir, Ararat, Aragatsotn, Tavush, Kotayk and Shirak provinces.
The closure decisions were made on the basis of breaches recorded during a monitoring by Health and Labor Inspectorate Body.
These facilities failed to comply with the mandatory requirements of wearing masks and gloves, observing distance between tables, measuring the visitors' temperature, the availability of separate closed garbage bins for masks and gloves and others.
"Compliance with the requirements of the task force is mandatory. All business entities that will breach these requirements will be penalized. In case of repeated violations, the closure term will be extended," according to the task force.
A 30-day state of emergency to curb the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16 and restrictions were imposed on free movement of citizens. The government banned also some types of economic activity. On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for another month and on May 4 it lifted the ban on almost all types of economic activity and the free movement of citizens, except for public transport. On May 14, the government has again extended the state of emergency for another 30 days.
However, despite the extension, public transport, preschools, trading centers, restaurants and gyms have reopened starting from May 18, and wearing of masks has become mandatory in public spaces.
Armenia's confirmed coronavirus cases grew by 452 over the past twenty-four hours to 7,113. As many as 3,145 patients recovered from the illness. Six coronavirus patients died at hospitals in the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 87. -0-
