Armenian government to build and repair 300 schools and 500 kindergartens by 2026

YEREVAN, Sept. 1. /ARKA/. By 2026, the Armenian government will build and renovate 300 schools and 500 kindergartens, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government session today.
"Many villages have been emptied, among other reasons, because starting from preschool age children had no opportunities and prospects for proper education, and parents preferred to leave to ensure their children's educational prospects," he said.
Pashinyan said that from now on, kindergartens and schools will be the cornerstones of revitalizing the country’s rural communities.
"I want to pay special attention to the program of inter-village educational complexes. Such projects will be implemented for villages, where the number of children is insufficient to create separate kindergartens and schools, and there is an opportunity to gather children from several villages in one place. We will build new buildings, provide them with new furniture, build new roads to these complexes, buy new buses and vans to transport children. We will ensure their right to appropriate education," he said.
Prime Minister also noted that the new complexes will open new perspectives not only for children, but also new jobs for their mothers, which will allow many families to overcome poverty. -0-
