Armenian prosecutors seek to seize 79 real estate units, 42 cars, 86 billion drams, shares and stakes in 39 companies from Gagik Tsarukyan
YEREVAN, November 23. /ARKA/. Armenia prosecutors are seeking to seize several dozens of property units, vehicles, large sums of money, as well as stakes and shares in nearly 40 companies owned by a wealthy businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.
An investigation to check the legality of the property belonging to Gagik Tsarukyan was launched in 2020.
After a string of inquiries made to various state and local self-government bodies, collection of evidence, including data containing banking secrecy, the law-enforcement authorities asked a court to order the seizure of property deemed as illegal and not justified by legitimate income.
By the court decision Gagik Tsarukyan and affiliated persons were prohibited to manage a number of immovable and movable property.
According to prosecutors, Tsarukyan and affiliated persons have not provided information justifying the legality of the property assessed as illegal.
On October 9, 2023, a lawsuit for confiscation of property of illegal origin was filed with the Anti-Corruption Court, which was accepted October 10. -0-
