Artsakh extends emergency regime, revises requirements limiting arrivals from Armenia
YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh) Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Zhirayr Mirzoyan, who is also head of a government task force set up to enforce the state of emergency declared to stop the spread of coronavirus, signed on Thursday a number of decisions emanating from the presidential decree on the extension of the emergency regime until September 11.

According to one of the decisions, entry has been made easier for non-citizens of Artsakh. From now on, permission is not required to enter the Artsakh Republic, but a negative PCR test for coronavirus valid for 72 hours is required. This does not apply to children under 6 years of age.

According to the task force, citizens of Artsakh  should be tested in the corresponding medical institutions of Armenia before going back home, since there is only one laboratory in Artsakh able to conduct PCR tests with extremely limited capabilities.

As for  the entry and exit of Artsakh citizens, they have not changed and remain in force. Thus, to leave Artsakh, its citizens must have the task force's  permission, and in case of entry, a negative PCR test for coronavirus valid for 72 hours or take mandatory test for the virus.

The cost of a PCR test for citizens of Artsakh is partially subsidized by the government and is  7000 drams (about $14.4).

By another decision of the task force, celebrations of birthdays, weddings and other events  in the open air are allowed  with the participation of 100 people, instead of the previous 60.

According to presidential decrees, the maximum number of participants in public events held indoors has also been revised. From now on, sports, cultural, educational, entertainment, festive and memorable events can be organized with the participation of 40 people, instead of the previous 20.

As of August 13, some 251 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Artsakh. Some 235 patients have recovered, 39 citizens have been  isolated, and 15 patients have been treated. Overall, 7,575 people have tested there for coronavirus. -0-
