Digital driver's licenses will be issued in Armenia from September 1 - MIA

YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. Digital driver's licenses will be issued in Armenia from September 1, 2025, said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan.

"When the National Assembly fully adopts the relevant legislative initiative, it will come into force and all our citizens who have driver's licenses will receive digital licenses," he said at a press conference on Friday.

However, according to Ghazaryan, people who receive licenses for the first time will be given the opportunity to choose - to purchase a digital license for a small state fee or a plastic license in case of leaving the country with a different fee.

"As of September 1, no fee is envisaged in the event of a transition to a digital license, which will be valid for driving on the territory of Armenia," Ghazaryan said.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs also stated that this is planned to improve the quality of public services provided and move them into the digital environment.
