Eurasian Economic Union countries to complete transition to electronic passports for motor vehicles by November 1

The Eurasian Economic Union member countries will have to complete the transition to the unified system of electronic passports for motor vehicles by November 1, 2019, heads of appropriate agencies of the union countries said Tuesday at a session presided by Viktor Nazarenko, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the commission’s press office reports.

YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Economic Union member countries will have to complete the transition to the unified system of electronic passports for motor vehicles by November 1, 2019, heads of appropriate agencies of the union countries said Tuesday at a session presided by Viktor Nazarenko, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the commission’s press office reports.
Now the Russian side is keen to use electronic passports more than any member country – it has completed almost all the procedures necessary for that.
It was stressed that electronic passports introduction will be not painful to car owners – they will be allowed to keep using paper passports as long as they want. -0---
