Hiking prices outpace wage rise in Armenia, Picodi.com says

YEREVAN, Jan. 14. /ARKA/. Picodi.com analysts checked how the minimum wage has changed in 64 countries of the world and whether it was enough to provide minimum comfort for living in these countries.
According to it, in Armenia the minimum wage has not changed, while in Uzbekistan it has increased by 21%, in Azerbaijan by 18.8%, in Belarus by 14.3%, and in Ukraine by 8.3%.
"Price increases have outpaced wage rises in Armenia, Russia and Ukraine, and basic foodstuffs, which ensure mere survival, account for 71% of the minimum wage in Armenia," according to picodi.com.
Currently, the minimum wage in Armenia is 68 thousand drams, and the minimum consumer basket in June 2021 was 70 thousand drams.
According to the National Statistical Committee (NSC) of Armenia, the 12-month inflation rate in December 2021 was 7.7%
