In Armenia, 7,121 people died in January-March, an increase of 2.3%

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. In January-March 2025, some 7,121 people died in Armenia, which is 2.3% more than in the same period in 2024. This is evidenced by data published by the National Statistical Committee.
More than half of the people (53.3% or 3,798 people) died due to diseases of the circulatory system, this figure is 2.2% more than in the same period in 2024.
Neoplasms are the second leading cause of death (17.5% or 1,248 people, an increase of 1.3%).
Other causes of death included respiratory diseases (11.1% or 787 people, an increase of 8.7%), diseases of the digestive system (5.2% or 368 people, an increase of 0.5%), external causes of morbidity and mortality (2.9% or 204 people, a decrease of 7.7%), diseases of the endocrine system (2.2% or 157 people, an increase of 31.9%), and infectious diseases (1% or 70 people, an increase of 45.8%). -0-
