Individual license will become mandatory for medical workers in Armenia

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. A committee of the Armenian National Assembly overseeing health issues green-lighted Wednesday a package of bills whereby all medical workers will have to obtain individual licenses.

"Senior medical workers must obtain an individual license in order to carry out independent professional activities regardless of the place of work," Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said.

In addition, clinical residents, as well as those undergoing postgraduate training in military medical institutions will be required to have a transitional individual license.

"The individual license and transitional individual license will be issued based on the results of a centralized examination. This exam will be conducted by a professional committee to check theoretical knowledge and practical skills," the minister said. --0--
