YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashiyan said Wednesday in a live broadcast on his Facebook page that according to the latest data, that there are already 84 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the country.

In his words, the spread of coronavirus in Etchmiadzin has slowed down. He said 81% of the cases detected are related to Echmiadzin and a manufacturing enterprise in Yerevan. In the last group of the infected, he said, 99 percent is an industrial incident. “These statistics allow us to draw certain conclusions regarding our methods of combating coronavirus," he said.

At the same time, Pashinyan noted that he could not yet state that the spread of coronavirus in Echmiadzin was suspended.

The prime minister expressed hope that it would be possible to track down the entire "chain of contacts" in the enterprise and slow down the spread of the disease in this direction.

In total, he said, more than 700 tests have been carried out at the moment, 444 citizens are isolated, and about 700 are on self-isolation now.

“The coronavirus is passing on a very easy scenario for us. Thank God, those of our fellow citizens who are at risk because of age feel good, there are no symptoms and the ministry of health assures that at the moment there will be no problems with the risky age group "said Pashinyan.

On March 16, the government of Armenia declared a 30-day state of emergency to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
